How customs duty works when you import from the USA to India

When a package arrives in India, Customs calculates duty on the assessable value (usually product price + shipping). Main components: Basic Customs Duty (BCD), Social Welfare Surcharge, and IGST. Rates depend on the product’s HS code.

Some categories (auto parts, certain cosmetics) attract higher duty. Gadgets are often more predictable. We always show an estimated duty in your quote so you see the full landed cost before deciding.

Sourcing car parts from the USA to India

Many OEM and aftermarket parts are easier or cheaper in the US. Send the exact part number, OEM number, or a clear product link (and ideally make/model/year or VIN).

Auto parts often attract higher customs duty. We calculate and show the estimated landed cost before you pay so you can decide if it still makes sense versus local options.

Buying US skincare and beauty products in India

Many American skincare brands have limited official distribution in India. Because individual prices can be low, our fee uses a $20 minimum or 10%, whichever is higher. We try to consolidate small orders when possible.

Package forwarding vs personal shopper

Traditional forwarders give you a US warehouse address. You buy online; they receive and ship. A personal-shopper model (what we do) is different: you send the link, we buy the item ourselves in the US, then ship it to you. One clear fee, no membership tiers.

How to get an accurate quote

Paste the full product URL, or send a clear photo. For car parts include the part number or VIN. Mention size/colour if needed, and share your pin code. We’ll reply with product price, our fee, estimated shipping, and estimated duty.
